Mieka Hairdressing Headlines Australian Hair Fashion Awards!

Melbourne’s Mieka Hairdressing headlined the prestigious Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) in Brisbane on Sunday 27 March taking home Australian Salon of the Year, Excellence in Training and the coveted Australian Masters Awards.

Over 400 hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists, photographers, beauty editors and guests attended the ceremony to witness Mieka take accolades across three categories, the only salon to do so during the Awards’ evening.

Judged in London by a panel of the world’s leading hairdressers, award entrants were required to submit a photographic collection of six images. As Australian Salon of the Year, Mieka’s exceptional customer service, technical excellence and business acumen was recognised whilst the salon’s commitment to education under the direction of salon owner, Tracey Hughes was acknowledged with the Excellence in Training award.

Education sensation Tracey Hughes, who launched her own range of educational DVDs last year and is the Australian hairdressing industry’s loudest and proudest advocate, was most honoured by her Australian Masters announcement. Somewhat like a hall of fame, the Australian Masters Award
acknowledges an individual’s contribution to the industry.

"It’s an honour and a privilege to be awarded Australian Masters. I’m flattered and overwhelmed by the support from my peers to be recognised for my contribution to the industry. I’m also extremely proud of my team at Mieka for winning Australian Salon of the Year,” said the vivacious educator,
who has presented education events from India to Mexico, Hong Kong, China, UK and beyond, and has inspired over 200,000 hairdressers with her training in her 20 year career.

Led by Tracey Hughes, Mieka Hairdressing has already amassed 200 Awards and their work has been published in over 50 magazines around the world including Images. The fashion forward signature Mieka brand is highly celebrated, but more importantly the talented team focus on providing clients with a look that is suitable for them and their lifestyle. They pride themselves on producing beautiful colour complemented with a flawless haircut in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The salon is set to extend their creative offerings with the opening of their new salon at Nobby Beach on the Gold Coast next week. The Nobby Beach salon will provide a unique lifestyle concept with a Mieka café set to be incorporated into the new salon.
