Ruby & Liam @ NZFW - Sara Allsop For ghd + Video

Sara Allsop, ghd Hair Director Ruby "We wanted to have a slightly dishevelled and tousled ponytail, but still give it that modern edge to go with the metallics within the collection. It was about the loose freshness of a young woman just pulling her hair back softly into that ponytail.

How to recreate the look:

1. Prepare the hair with ghd Heat Protect Spray and ghd Root Lift Spray

2. Create a strong centre part down the middle of the head, once you have centre parting, divide hair into 2 sections (one at the top and one bottom)

3. Slightly backcomb the top section of the head from roots to mid lengths

4. Once this is done take your ghd styler through from roots to ends turning the styler slightly under at the ends

5. Pull the hair back into a low loose ponytail, and divide the ponytail into three sections

6. Starting from the outside, cross each section of hair over once then secure with a hair elastic

7. Divide the ponytail into two sections and pull outwards to tighten

8. To create an editorial effect, backcomb the ends gently

9. Finish with ghd Final Fix hairspray and ghd Final Shine Spray

Sara Allsop, ghd Hair Director Liam "It’s a very sophisticated and glamorous look. We aimed to make the hair look as healthy and shiny as possible. We wanted the hair to move on the catwalk and bounce as the models walked. Not so much as a curl, more about that bouncy movement”

How to recreate the look:

1. Prepare the hair with ghd Heat Protect Spray and ghd Root Lift Spray

2. Create a side parting

3. Start at the bottom of the head, take horizontal sections and slightly backcomb the roots

4. Place the ghd styler at the root area and rotate one full turn (180 degrees) before gliding to the ends

5. To complete the barrel curl, roll the section of hair from ends to roots and then secure with a pin

6. Continue all of the way through to the top of the head

7. Once all the hair has cooled remove the pins and brush out, starting from underneath to give that loose, bouncy curl

8. Finish with ghd Final Fix Hairspray
