Caterina DiBiase - Pushing Boundaries!

NZ stylists were treated to inspirational colour, editorial styling and some of the latest hair techniques when Caterina DiBiase came to town.

Infamous in Australia and around the globe, Melbourne-based Caterina is Creative Director of Heading Out Hair and Beauty. As the first person to win two consecutive L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards in Australia (in 1999 & 2000), along with ‘Australian hairdresser of the Year’ in 2007 and 2009, Caterina continues to push the hairdressing boundaries and this was evident at the NZ shows.

In NZ for three awe-inspiring shows (Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch), Caterina wowed the audience in Auckland’s Stamford Plaza on Tuesday July 12 with live hair creations and inspirational colours demonstrated on her stunning models.

With a strong red theme demonstrated throughout the show, Caterina experimented with the gorgeous new INOA shades that were both vibrant and on-trend. Well renowned for her use of coppers and reds - Caterina actually won her first L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy with a red haired model and continues to feature them strongly all these years on.

Watch out for red shades becoming big this season, you’ll see the likes of Drew Barrymore and Scarlett Johansson sporting new hue’s and we all know celebrities drive hair trends.

Delivering the X-factor, Caterina showcased hair trends that the audience could use for competitions, commercial in-salon and photographic work – while also sharing some of her tricks of the trade. Creative up-dos and how to achieve gorgeous finger waves were just some of the hot tips stylists walked away with after the show.
