D&M Hairdressing Supporting The Next Generation Of NZ Fashion

One of the highlights on the fashion calendar each year is the graduation catwalk show from AUT’s prestigious fashion design programme. The ROOKIE show is an opportunity for 24 final year fashion students to present their collections on the runway in front of the media and industry experts.
Danny Pato, d&m’s Creative Director, was approached by AUT to design the hair for this year’s show. The brief was to create a collection of looks that would suit not only the diversity of the clothing ranges, but to also tie in to the "high-tech” theme of the production.
This year’s ROOKIE show was held on the 11/11/11 to a capacity crowd of well over 1,000 people at Queen’s Wharf’s Shed 10. It showcased a diverse range of work that included the exploration of unique approaches to pattern cutting, textural experimentation and an explosion of thought provoking colour and print work.
