Wella Professionals Launches 2012 Trend Vision Awards!

Wella Professionals has released four new cutting edge trends for the 2012 Wella Trend Vision Award, created by Global Creative Director Wella Professionals Eugene Souleiman and Global Creative Director Colour Josh Wood. Wella has captured the trends that influence fashion and beauty and infused these in the 2012 collection, naming the four themes: Blaze, Grace, Roxy and Celeste.
The annual Wella Trend Vision Award provides talented stylists with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and creativity on a global level by interpreting one of the four Wella trends. At Wella, forecasting new fashion directions and developing advanced techniques in hair styling and colour is all part of Trend Vision.
This annual award tests the passion and creative flair of local stylists and offers the chance of a lifetime: winning nationally in the Color or Young Talent category will take them to compete alongside the world’s finest hairdressing talent at the International Trend Vision Award.
The 2012 Trend Vision themes represent four archetypal female personalities who are bold and command attention.
Blaze: The Femme Fatale - Main Photo
Blaze is a modern, unpredictable take on South-American exoticism. Blaze picks up on the ardent character and confidence of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and the liquid sensuality of 1920’s Latin actor Rudolpho Valentino. Blaze is a woman of fiery passion with near masculine pride. The look is glossed, boldly short and sharp-cut. Blaze contrasts flamboyant fuchsia accents against sober black, to combine femininity with androgyny.
"The idea of black, grey and fuchsia is a very, very strong statement”, says Josh Wood. Crescendos of strong pinks glimmer in Blaze’s eyes and her sensual lips are blushed pink, complementing her high, flushed cheeks. Blaze wears open work patterns, lace and embroidery peppered with intense darks. She embodies a playful, strong-willed diva with her own definitive style.

Grace: The Modern Muse
Grace celebrates the dry elements of nature and rediscovers handcrafted quality, natural materials and the values of authenticity. Inspired by the radiance and purity of nature, Grace shines with the golden glow of the setting desert sun. An effortless, sophisticated presence comes naturally to her and she is always styled with perfect ease.
Grace‘s colour palette flaunts linen tones of beiges and taupe and her hair is simple yet luxurious, radiating earthly tonality. Grace’s natural skin resonates golden tones that enhance her semi-matte neutral lips. She wears noble materials like linen or silk with elaborate folding and texture that glistens.

Celeste: The Visionary
Celeste is inspired by an otherworldly beauty and is mysterious with an edge of cosmic daring. As a futurefocused heroine she has a pioneering style that dares to define a new vision of femininity. Celeste moves towards the edge of innovation into the outer space of experimental beauty.
Celeste’s style is shiny, sleek and elegant and incorporates strong looks with new head shapes. The look features pale lilac and rose blondes with ash grey tips, fused with touch of gold. Josh Wood describes "crystal clear colours, amethyst, pale sapphire” as important tones for Celeste. Celeste boasts perfect alabaster skin with shimmering, metallic pastels on her eyes, complemented by soft lip tones. She mixes NASA Couture with rose gold designed from new matter and constructed within a 4D world.

Roxy: The Scene Stealer
Roxy incorporates the glamour of Studio 54, the experimental creativity of an Andy Warhol mixing with VIP society, the sharp-silhouetted Yves Saint Laurent evening suit for women on a night on the town – but with a new twist. Roxy is purposeful, orchestrated, and completely self-aware, inspired by post-modern feminism.
As a born extrovert, Roxy’s every movement is a statement. She has a strong style reminiscent of the 70’s and oozes retro glamour and colour. Roxy wears an immaculate style in a sleek and chic fitted body and is glamorous, yet minimal. Her hair boasts extreme width and texture with shades of blackened purple and apricot accents.
Violets, brunettes and mahogany colours also feature in this style. "The wonderful thing about this look is that it is very bold, very clear with what it’s trying to say”, says Eugene Souleiman. Roxy flaunts a playfully sophisticated pale velvet finish, bold purple lips and clean eyes with groomed brows and lashes. Wherever she goes, she steals the limelight and becomes the natural centre of attention.
