Share The Excitement As TiGi Welcome Their New Creative Director!

Current NSW Hairdresser of the year, Sam Overton, has joined the TIGI ANZ team as their new Creative Director. Full of passion and enthusiasm for his much loved vocation,in the 12 years that Sam has been training, educating and building word-class hairdressing skills, he has come a very long way.
After relocating to Australia from England almost 6 years ago, Sam has certainly made his mark on the industry. His creative projects, inclusion in multiple photographic competitions, his travelling educational activities around Australia & throughout the world and interaction with some of the industry’s biggest names has seen Sam highly sought-after for his talent, expertise and educational abilities.
Sam’s latest step in taking the creative reins at TIGI shows that he is clearly on his way to greater things. Having styled many-a-celebrity’s locks you can often find him back-stage, styling hair for runway shows, creating inspirational looks for various fashion houses. When asked about the source of his inspiration he replies "I gather from everything around me – using only select sources equates to monotonous work, which can only restrain your growth.” Said Sam.
Being humble in his approach to education and having such an instant connection with people means that Sam is able to share his knowledge to a wide variety of students, from the absolute novice to the industry-lifer. Quite simply, Sam takes you on a creative journey from beginning to end.
Sam’s own personal approach to the industry fits the TIGI mentality like a hand in a glove.
"The TIGI team in both Australia and New Zealand are proud and excited to work with such a motivational individual. In the role of Creative Director TIGI ANZ, Sam’s particular expertise will be of ultimate benefit to our clients. Sam’s appointment to this role is yet another step in TIGI’s commitment to furthering the hairdressing industry in our region through the delivery of world-class education.”
Sam takes on the responsibility of running the expert TIGI Creative Academy in Sydney as well as the roll out of their regional roadshows and in-salon education programmes. He says he is "really excited about working with such a creatively driven company and a like-minded team. Education is everything to me and I’m looking forward to ensuring that TIGI education is known as the best in the industry and easily accessible for all hairdressers!”
