L’Oréal Professionnel, the historical brand leader, and trusted partner of hairstylists, reveals the grand winners of Style & Color Trophy 2023, both on YouTube and on Roblox, the gaming platform. This year, the competition took a new turn with a theme inspired by the virtual world, Meta-morphosis, which aims to unlock creativity and self-expression.
To become the winners, the finalists were evaluated during the global finale by a jury composed of 4 international industry influencers: Min Kim, Derick Monroe, Charlie Le Mindu and the CGI artist Samy La Crapule. Coming from 35 countries, the contest gathered more than 105.000 applications, which is five times more than the previous edition.
And the winners are….
- Jingwang Zhang – China Mainland
- Slawomir Suder – Poland-Baltics 2nd place,
- Rebecca Brent, Australia-New Zealand, 3rd place.
Rebecca Brent, 3rd place winner from Willis York salon said “Representing ANZ on the global stage in Paris was a dream come true for me. Finishing in the top 3 was the pinnacle achievement in my career to date!! It was a wow moment for me to know that I am capable of world class hairstyling, and it validates my creative ideas around my work.”
An innovative way to showcase the competition.
On December 19th, L’Oréal Professionnel revealed the two global winners of Style & Colour Trophy 2023 on YouTube. In addition and for the first time, the brand created a whole immersive experience on Roblox, the 40-million users gaming platform. Firstly, from December 5th to December 8th, the general public has been invited to vote for its favorite virtual hairstyle through the very first branded poll session ever on Fashion Famous, the 24-million monthly visits dress-up game. Moreover, to offer an immersive finale, the brand announced the winner on Roblox and invited the gamers to personalize their avatars with creative and diverse hairstyles.
Since 1909 and the creation of the first hair color by its founder Eugène Schuller, L’Oréal Professionnel has provided hairstylists with creative inspirations to elevate their artistry. In recent years, this has evolved to include the virtual world with avatar hair looks created by the brand to offer limitless self-expression. L’Oréal Professionnel launched 4 hair collections working hand-in-hand with Charlie Le Mindu, a global hairstylist and Evan Rochette, a CGI artist.
