INDUSTRY THRIVING: 2025 Expo Wraps Up on a High!
The NZ Hair & Beauty Expo returned to the Viaduct Events Centre last weekend (14 – 15 June), bringing all the behind-the-scenes intricacies of the hair and beauty industries under one roof as they came together to share, educate, network and inspire.
Launched in 2003, this is New Zealand’s only trade-event for the hair, male grooming and beauty industry in New Zealand that connects brands face-to-face with buyers.
Shaughan Woodcock, Expo Director comments, “Each year we see positive growth and this year was no exception – numbers were up and business was humming. We had over 3,200 attendees and our exhibitors experienced a weekend full of business. There was a buzz which left us all feeling invigorated about the benefits of bringing the industry together.”

But don’t just believe the hype from the Expo Director:
James Turner from Cosmetologists NZ comments, “2025 was a great show. This year the quality of attendees was noticeably higher – there was genuine interest, not just browsing. We had great conversations with salon owners who were ready to order or book training on the spot. Plus, the ability to meet new stockists, catchup with old ones and demonstrate everything we do in one place is invaluable. As many people within the industry will know it is getting expensive and increasingly difficult to reach business owners using Google or Meta ads. It’s refreshing to have lead after qualified lead in the one place.”
Jo Su’a from Southern Salon Supplies says, “It was amazing to attend the New Zealand Hair & Beauty Expo and showcase six of the incredible brands we represent at Southern Salon Supplies — Clever Curls, Everescents, Reuzel, JRL, Pure and JUUCE. What an unforgettable two days filled with inspiration, connection, and truly amazing people!”
Lisa Muggeridge from CHI NZ said, “This year was our biggest and best yet – a record-breaking success for CHI Haircare, with our highest-ever sales and an overwhelming level of interest from salon professionals across the country. From the moment the doors opened, we were inundated with visitors, all eager to learn more about the revolutionary CHI Colour Master Factory. For many, it was their first time seeing such a powerful and intelligent colour system in action – and they couldn’t wait to find out how to bring it into their own businesses. Beyond the technology, it was a weekend full of vibrant conversations, exciting connections, and so much passion for professional haircare.”
Sarah from Luxe Beauty Group commented, “This was our best expo yet! It was great to see so much optimism returning and the vibe was high the whole weekend. We were thrilled that there was so much interest in our new products and brands and we cannot wait to do it all again next year!”
James from the Beauty Gallery comments, “ The NZ Hair & Beauty Expo never disappoints, it was such a rewarding experience reconnecting with long-time customers from all corners of the country and making new connections with fellow industry professionals. There’s something special about being surrounded by like-minded people who are just as passionate about what they do.”
Dates for next year have just been announced as 13 – 14 June 2026.
